JH-414 is a fluorine-alkali agglomerated flux which is specially designed to cope with nitrogen-containing martensitic surfacing flux-cored welding wire. It is a gray-white spherical particle with an alkalinity of about 1.8 and the flux has less specific gravity when it is bulk packed. Loose specific weight is about 0.9.The flux is selected from high-purity Al₂O₃, the content of S and P are both lower than 0.02. It is used instead of smelting type HJ260 and HJ107 flux, and its economy and quality stability are far better than smelting flux. With flux-cored wire containing N less than 0.12%, the weld bead is beautifully formed, good slag removal, no porosity in the weld bead, uniform alloy elements in the surfacing layer, and less burning loss of alloy elements in welding wire. Its performance can replace Japanese NB-70M flux
It is suitable for single pass spiral welding, swing welding and strip surfacing welding. It is used for surfacing welding of continuous caster rolls, blanking rolls, cold rolls, support rolls and hot work rolls with large high temperature thermal cycle load.
